Pakistani farmers use many fertilizers at high rates. Due to these expenses, the farmers need help to make good money for their families. The farmers are requesting that the government launched schemes to control these prices or give some subsidies to the farmer’s community.
Due to this, the Punjab government has launched the Kisan Card scheme. This is the card through which registered Kisan can avail of subsidies from the government of Punjab. Registration process for Kisan Card Scheme
The registration process for Kisan Card scheme is straightforward. To register for this program, you need to follow some basic steps. Which include;
- Approach the nearest retail shop.
- Apply for the Kissan card through the HBL Konnect machine.
- Fill out the required information.
- Review your form after you have completed and filled out the information.
- Submit the form.
- It will be reviewed for some days. The officials can also visit your fields to confirm the information you provided.
- After the confirmation, you will receive your Kisan Card at the address provided at the time of registration, delivered by courier services.
Note: You can not apply for this scheme directly on the HBL Bank. So, always go to the retailer for the registration process.
Objectives of Kisan Card Scheme
This Kisan Card scheme is very useful for the farmer community. So, its objectives are also designed so that the Kisan Community can get as many benefits as possible. So, some significant objectives of Kisan Card are as follows:
- Provide the best and most optimized subsidies to the farmers. Before giving a subsidy, make sure that it mainly helps the farmers.

- Based on their CNIC, the government has distributed the 10.865 billion funds among the farmers through the E-Votchers.

- Right now, the government has 848,105 registered farmers under the Kisan Card scheme, and these registrations are increasing daily.
- 2,200 HBL ATMs are used to register for the Kissan Card.

Schemes under the Kisan Card
Many schemes have been launched under the Kisan card. This card can be used for these schemes. Some of the schemes are as follows.
E-Voucher Based Fertilizer Subsidy
Farmers can get subsidies through E-Vouchers for different fertilizers. A voucher with a hidden code will be given to the farmer. The farmer needs to submit this code through SMS on 8070. The Subsidy amount will be transferred to his Kisan Card account, which can be withdrawn through any ATM using the Kisan Card. The fertilizers are:

Potash Subsidy Scheme
The government launched Kisan Card scheme to help farmers, specifically for the potash in their fields. The farmers use their Kisan card to buy potash at low rates for their crops.
E-Voucher-based Cotton Seed Subsidy
The government gave E-Vouchers to farmers for the purchase of cotton seeds. The government gives a subsidy of Rs. 1000 for each 6 kg Delinter cotton seed or for 10 Kg of fuzzy cotton seed. Each farmer can get this subsidy for the purchase of 2 to 5 five 40 kg bags of registered cotton seed.
Subsidy Scheme for Promotion of Oilseed Crops 2019-2024
The government provides a 40—to 50% subsidy on different oil seeds, including canola, sesame bags, sunflower bags, and some others. The government is also working on providing the best oil seeds to farmers at every registered retailer.
